Biotic factors
The Sonoran Desert is home to more species than any other desert,
including a plethora of thousands of living organisms spanning almost
all kingdoms, phylum, and classes.
Some biotic factors include:
Mammals such as the big horn sheep, jackrabbit, coyote, and
black footed ferret.
Reptiles such as the gila monster, rattle snack, horned lizard,
and Sonoran desert tortoise.
Birds such as the abert's towhee, black-tailed gnatcatcher,
roadrunner, and bald eagle.
Over 160 different species of plants such as the saguaro cactus,
creosote bush, bur sage, indigo bush and the hairy desert
sunflower.
